I got a couple of Albino Corys yesterday and i want to make a small cave for them.My initial thought was to get a plant pot,on its side with half of it above the substrate. It would make a decent sized cave, but would it in any way damage the water quality? And which would be best ,plastic or terracotta?

either is fine. I have a small terracotta (unglazed) in my tank with pgymy cories.

terracotta is nicest, plastic ones tend to get a slimy film over them after just a few days in the water and look awful!
