I have some of this grassy stuff that really isn't doing so great. Wondering exactly what it is and if it's genuinely aquatic or not.

The plants in the photo are all no more than about an inch long.

First opinion i got was it is not a true aquatic. If you hold them upright from the base of the stem does it stay vertical or flop down. Ifit stays perfectly vertical its usually an indication the plant isnt a true aquatic. "Usually" i said. Aquatic plants have 'floppy' stems that are supported by the water column.

Agreed, that looks like a non aquatic species, however I cant ID it for ya.

The stems are fairly ridged and britle.

My suspicion is Mondo Grass...Ophiopogon japonica but I wanted someone to confirm or deny.

I've had mondo grass before and it was nothing like that -_-

I had some of that in my 32 litre, its not aquatic and my 32litre is my wonder tank and in there it still died

i wouldnt say ophiopogon japonica, as it looks nothing like that, and i agree it looks non aquatic
