hi, i have recently acquired a floating plant, but it was unlabelled, it is the biggest plant in the centre of each pic, and is spreading well. the biggest plant is 3cm across. any ideas of what it is?

i thought that at first, but the leaves are furry, and grow up from the centre, not totally flat like amazon frogbit if you know what i mean?

nope, i found it in a rainforest in holland, at a zoo, (i don't think that they have real ones in holland lol) there was this stream, and i just sort of picked a bit up, to see if it would grow in my tank.

it is more like flower shaped, with each plant being circular, made up of half a dozen leaves.

hi, just thought i'd let you know. i am now pretty sure it is dwarf water lettuce. i was reading a topic on another forum asking about easy plants, and someone suggested the dwarf water lettuce. so i thought that my floating plant looks like water lettuce, only, smaller, so 'dwarf' water lettuce kind of made sense. anyway, i googled it, and it looks exactly the same as mine.

the mystery is solved! :good:
