A few months ago i bought some plants at my lfs, including java fern and some swords, but i bought this one on impulse (bad, i know) and i'm still not sure what it is. it's gotten quite tall and is actually sticking out of the water a bit. i had the idea of letting it grow out the back of the lid, but as i'm not sure what it is, i don't know if this will work.

Thanks!

ok, great! this plant seems to be doing well... is there a certain way i should trim it? it's starting to stick out of the water...

Take cuttings as normal; it will encourage bushing. Stems that are 6+ inches long do sell and trade well, in my experience.
