How much bigger will they get?

I remember seeing a documentary a while back where river people lost a two year old and all they found was bones!!!

Ooh I couldn't feed live foods - but then I wouldn't own piranhas lol I guess it's no different than our hawk catching rabbits as its all over so quickly.

I have accidentally stumbled across a video on YouTube of piranhas eating a frog and it took a while. It wasnt the worst video on YouTube, some things you just can't unsee.

red bellies can get 12-14 inches fully grown, when kept in a proper environment and properly fed (as these appear to be)....most red bellies never reach their full size because most people who keep them either over crowd the tank, dont have a tank big enough, dont know how to take care of them properly, or a combination of all those things (not referring to the OP here of course)

Well over 15 years i gave them all kind of stuff.  I feed fish once a while really any type i get cheap like goldfish. I also put some random stuff in, that i catched in rivers or lakes. We have a dead channel here, wich is full of fish like to millions at the sides when it gets warmer so it wont really hurt nature i guess, to take a few. The names are: Silverlings, red feather, redeyes, graskarpfen, forelle, stichling. I live in germany tho if you wonder bout that names, not sure if i got them all right translated. I also have a breeding store for outdoor lake- and riverfish near my house where i got alot fish for good prices. But well they also ate frogs , mice, craps ,catfish, sunbarsh yet. And well frogs or mice is to much of a mess and well it can end up pretty cruel if them not hungry so i dont do that anymore. Also i never give them anything alive if them not hungry. I make sure to not feed them at least 3 days and then put it in so it mostly takes like 5-10seconds untill the animal is complete eaten.

Edit: Oh that reminds me i also raised some breeds of them yet. The small redbellys i fed with living maggets from a fishing store. That looks hell cute when them like fingernail size with big eyes. At that time they really eat more then they possible can. Its one of the most funny things i ever seen. They end up laying on the ground with half a magget sticking out the mouth digesting it yet but they wont let go of it. Also the tiny larvas i fed with brine shrimps, its the only thing they eat. Most piranha keeper dont know that so the larvas die once they hatch and used the yolt sack if the parents didnt eat them. I put them in a seperate tank and raised them there.
That's really interesting, thanks for that!

I love how you look after them so well, keep it up and even though they're scary - keep us updated with the videos because they're great to watch

They sound a right laugh when they're small, not so much at full size

I will do that update i mean. I dont know how big they still get but i give them as much food as they want. If they leave food in the tank i dont feed them the other day, so i only put in as much as they really eat. I must get a sunbarsh once a while again and tape that. Last one was funny as well. He swam up like a bully to the big female wich i named kessy and she just swam at him looked at him and then bit his head off in one piece. She also sucked in some goldfish yet in like 1 piece full gone. Then she later on lets it come out of the mouth half , cuts it in 2 piece and quickly sucks in both. They do it cause well them greedy to get the food. Also when  you feed mice , they eat them like pretty fast up but later on they get the piece back out and suck them back in couple of times. They let the meat run over the teeth and scratch the furr of it, wich they leave in the tank then. If they cant digest some they spit it back out even like 3 days later. That way they can really eat anything up to small bones and stuff digest the meat from it and spit the bones out later. Also the stomach acid seems to be real strong, from mice for example i never found any bones or skull in the tank. Same with fish they digest them full.

You're just making them sound even scarier ahah!

Wow, amazing tank! It was great fun watching the videos, nice fish.
