"Pin Me! Pin Me!"

Mr Miaga made some really good comments here regarding salt water filtration, it comes up time and time again and I think is worthy of a pinned topic.

:)

i also think it would be nice to have a pin in the emergencies section on salt baths nmonks has written a few good topics on the subject so maybe ask him :good:

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=82900 as EVERYONE'S LOCATIONS IN GREAT BRITAIN some one suggested that this should be pinned in the buy/sell/swap section

I think it could be helpful, but in my opinion, someone should go through and list them in the first post, by location, member name...something. 22 pages of locations is hard to make sense of, without a list.

Just my opinion. :)

in the beginner section there's always posts from people who knowing nothing about cycling a tank or water chemistry have got some fish and are now having problems. i think it would be really beneficial to have a pin on that page giving some basic info and help with what to do.

i've kicked a thread off and am getting others input..... http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=175355

oops, silly me, found there is an existing thread that covers this, however the title wouldn't be clear to beginners that this is what's going on in they're tank, and it's also tucked away where you have to go rummaging for it.

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=10099

i'd recommend maybe making an amalgamation of the two threads or just moving the existing one to the top of the beginners forum and changing the title so beginners get to it before they start asking questions.

:good:

Well, I updated the Beginner Resource Center, and gave it a title that people will hopefully read - You can see it here. I moved some of the threads in there into the Beginners FAQ, to keep it cleaner....but if nobody reads the resource center, I guess I'll have to move some of them back. *crosses fingers*

I added your topic in, Miss Wiggle, but didn't pin it. I think it gives a nice explanation, myself. :good:

i think that'll be a lot more helpful and used there :good:

Being such a complete and utter novice myself, I hesitate to have the nerve to make any suggestions at all, for fear of looking like a right idiot, but Sylvia's thread - recommendations for a 10g tank is IMHO very good. I direct people there a lot (seems like every day) when this very common question comes up, and found it extremely useful even when I was planning my 20g tank .

I have noticed other members with much more experience than me link to it too, very frequently - and also note that with 45 posts, it has something over 2800 hits - and I don't think they're *all* mine

10 Gallon Tank reccomendations by Sylvia !
This is something that's asked many times, and this gives some very good options to the beginner

Yep - this is definitely a thread worth pinning. Hope it gets some consideration :good:
