“Pin Me! Pin Me!”
It has come to the attention of the board that folks here would like to see more pinned articles. I also know that there are many people out there with heads chock-full of fishy knowledge, just bursting to share it with all of us. So I created and pinned this thread to serve as a sort of “Pin Me Clearinghouse.”
• Do you have a strong knowledge base in a specific aspect of fish-keeping that you would like to share with the rest of the forum? Are you ace with Angels or a plant keeping pro? Have you successfully spawned a difficult-to-spawn species? Are you a DIY wiz? Have you spent hours studying Apple Snail anatomy? (If so, you really need to get out of the house more…..) Do you have strong desire to help newbie’s so they don’t make the same mistakes you suffered through? Then sit down and write up some great threads. Post these threads and get comments and feedback. Use those comments to help you add to your thread, make any necessary corrections to ensure your information is accurate. Also, make sure your information is your own, or, if you use someone else’s text, that you cite that to give the original author full credit. Then, when you have a finished product, with all suggestions and corrections taken into consideration, put a link to it here in this thread.
• Not comfortable putting your work out there for all to see in its raw form? Write something up and share it with a few trusted forum friends or ask a mod to take a look at it for you first, get some constructive criticism that way, and then post something when you feel more comfortable with what you have.
• Have an idea for a topic but only know a little about it? You could always team up with some other folks to come up with a great collaborative effort.
• Maybe you’re not one for writing up topics yourself, but you have an eye for pin-able topics. Well, if you see a thread that you believe is good enough to be pinned so that others can continue to benefit from it, add a link here. So many great threads just get lost in the forum abyss within a few weeks of being posted. So if you recall older threads that you wish had been pinned, feel free to search for them and add them too.
Keep in mind, just because a request for pinning has been made, that does not mean a topic will definitely get pinned. Also, to make it easier for folks to review, when you post the link, also post what the topic is about.
Now get out there and write up some great articles!
