Great, thank you, When I can get a pic of Tiddles I'll post that up as well, problem is that we hardly ever see him.

maybe the same species but different colours markins , body shape and names for them "common" is a misused word for these and is not specific enough just to say that

Hypostomus plecostomus, Liposarcus pardalis,Suckermouth Catfish,Algea Eater, Amazon Sailfin Catfish, L23, L023,gibbiceps loads of names for them and im sure ive missed some out and if im not mistaken bristlenoses are in the "common" family too

Yeh true but pardalis is known for being the common of commons

Hypostomus plecostomus is the most common one of them all which brings you back to the gibby the most acsessable pleco on the market apart from the bristlenoses

Dunno man the doods on planetcatfish said that the true h plecostomus is really rare and that p pardalis was wrongly classified as them. I tend to agree though gibbys seem more common in shops these days than pardalis.

Might be best to ask on the catfish forum just to be sure. I'm pretty sure its not a gibby going by the fin size and markings.
