Well, here are some pictures of my first planted tank, two months after initial planting. Abouta month ago I took out the swordplants that I had, repositioned the Aponogeton crispus, and completely replanted the Glosso. I've also reduced the lighting from 3wpg to 1.5wpg, and 3 weeks ago began using the EI method of fertilization. Since then, everything has really taken off, and the algae I was fighting has almost completely died back. The next thing I'm going to do is replace the Pennywort with an Aponogeton ulvaceus, and then do a big cutback and replanting of the ludwigia.

Not an Amano or Barr tank by any means, but I'm proud of my first effort so far.

beautiful tank!
i've been keeping plants for a while, but i've never been able to do aquascapes like that. that's gorgeous :good:

beautiful!
i have lots of plants, but absolutely no talent for scaping:( thats lovely!
cheers

Very nice! :)
im planning a low-tech planted tank too atm. Are you using Co2 or any ferts?
they've got a drop checker on the right hand side, so im guessing they use co2. and the OP stated they dose EI method.
cheers

Congrats on taking on board a method and implementing it well to achieve good results.
Just goes to show what you can do with
*non-limiting nutrients
*good CO2
*not having mega watts of lighting

is the sand covered in algae? if it is i would suggest you address why it is there before it gets any further, it does detract from the scape, a whiter sandy 'path' would look better imo, and add some more light to the scape.
