Pics Of My New Kribs

Ok today i went to the LFS.... i was hoping to get a pair of blue rams...
but instead as the rams had a fungal illness
i decided to get the only pair of kribs!
and the oto's that weren't priced... so i claimed too the clueless woman the were the sucker mouth cat fish that where 1.99 each
on my way out i noticed the otos were supposed to be 2.99 each hehe!


going back in two weeks to get myself a new betta for my empty 5 gallon, and a group of panda corys!

i have put my neon tetras back in with the kribs and oto's...
although there slowly dieng of old age lol!


annnny way is there anything else about kribs i should know?
or otos?

I've never kept kribs but I've read many times that they can be very aggressive.

Here's a tip. Often otos seem to die for no reason when introduced in to a tank. I think the best way to prevent this is to make sure they eat enough. I would put in blanched lettuce, cucumber, zuchinni and algae wafers - not all at once of course lol - to make sure they eat something. HTH. Congrats on the new kribs!

I don't know much about kribs but those look to me like 2 females... I just got kribs and it seems mine are both female too

horrus is a male and demeter is a female.

Why do you say that?? I'm so confused about sexing kribs, i thought pink belly, round tail meant female?!?

Hi you def have a nice pair of kribs.
I just baught me some oto's today but i paid £3.99 for my ones

You will find that your kribs will become aggessive when the start to breed
so you might need to put them in a dif tank at that stage

the male has a pointed top fin
the females top fin rounds off

thanks foxy, i have 3 large tanks ones a betta grow out tank that i wont be using now.... so ill re home evey one else in that of these spawn... although there sare so many hiding places these should be ok...
im loving these guys....

The easiest way of telling the sex is the female has that spot on the dorsal fin. The male doesn't.

Both my kribs have round dorsal fins and both have spots on their dorsal fin and both have pink bellys... pretty sure i got 2 females! stupid lame LFS!!!

Those are very nice pics. I wouldn't fancy being bitten by one of those kribs. . Otos are so cute...remember, a fat oto is a happy oto. lol.

3 pieces of cucumber.... they have devoured that the buggers are little fatties lol....
mind you the cories like them
