Barracuda made me go look at cories in AB. That is a terrible mistake. I saw some of these. Very nice babies. I'm guessing that they are tank raised.

What do you think? I do have a ten usg I could set up. If I get the petrocolas and Moba tank up I have one already set up in a quiet spot, although I would have to soften the water.

Those are well freaky. Those fins are incredible. Very, very tempting, I'm sure. They would be something very special to have.

They are babies and only an inch in size. I have gotten fish from this dealer before. His record at AB is 1 complaint out of 1100 ratings. I got my petrocolas from him. They were tiny babies and all arrived alive. I didn't realize it was the same seller until I emailed him. He was very attentive when I got the petrocolas and interested in their safe arrival and set up.

I think thoese Longfins Corys Albino looks fine, and it is still young fishes. The long fins even make fishes looks thin. Once you have it and feed them well and those Corys are growing fast.

I have see the real albino long fins and I'm don't like that much. To me rather to have Long fins Cory Peppered. But if you likes Albino and think it is a good deal, nothing will slow you down.

You are so right. Fish hobbiests are mostly compulsive. I really try to avoid Aquabid. I get where I need a 12 step program.

I am exchanging emails now with Darryl/aquariaman and washing 60 pounds of rock for the new Moba frontosa aquarium. I was very happy with the dwarf petrocolas, although some suggested they were hybrids. When I asked him about it he said that if indeed they grew up to be hybrids he would give me a refund. I don't really know if the synos are hybrids, never having seen any other petrocolas in person. But they are small, healthy and cute. What more could you want? I'm not planning to try to breed them.

As long as fishes are healthy and a live in the Aquriaum that makes me Happy. Specially you don't plan the Bleeding them. For my personal, I would likes to cross breeding and has new special fish [Many people will not agree with me ]. In the nature cory's in the wild are cross breed all the time.

Well if you desire to get make sure you have good contact with the seller and asking much question he/she could answer to ensure to get healthy fishes.

I am not a purist. I don't mind crossbreeding. I think it is good if deliberate crossbreeders study their fish. I think it is mandatory that sellers inform buyers. #1 is healthy fish with happy hobbiests.

These are just selectively bred C. paleatus, not hybrids, in case anyone was wondering.

The males of this species are usually a lot smaller than the females, which can get pretty big. You can see the difference between them on this thread:

The peppered corys are all mature fish; it's just the natural differences between the sexes.

They are very beautiful fish, but their long fins make it hard for them to swim when there is much movement in the water, unlike other corys. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you tamper with nature.

This supplier tells me that the his albinos come from the same breeder who supplied my dwarf petrocolas. And they were young but survived the trip and arrived lively and healthy. I am looking forward to adding to my collection. Ten cories should make for a lively group.

I will ask him to ship as soon as I have the tank for the badis badis ready to go and can put the cories in the vacated qt tank.

They are pretty fish!

I spent the better part of the day doing water changes and moving fish around. The long fins are one of the fish I put in a species tank of their own. They seem much happier now since I can control the water movement better with a box filter than I could with a big AquaClear. I'm bleeding some of the extra air pressure off to keep the filter working but not churning up the water.

I tried to get a picture of my other male albino. He has even longer fins than the one on the other thread, but they came out blurred. I'll try again tomorrow.

Sorry, Inchworm, I didn't get notice of your post.

The albino longfin peppers will be here Thursday afternoon CA time. Fed Ex has them now. They left Honolulu at 4:30 pm, arrived in Oakland and left 70 minutes ago (3 am) for Fresno. They will then be sent from Fresno to Clovis (a substation) to be put on a truck for delivery. We decided that the night time temps were dropping significantly, so it would be better not to wait. The weather is stable and it actually warmed up a bit for my deliveries.

I am still undecided which tank to put them in. If I can get the badis badis set up in the 25 usg, I can put the cory babies in the eclipse twelve to grow out. There is some current, but I believe it will do to start. I have a 10 usg I can set up with a hydor filter later if necessary.

I spent Wed homing 8 synos (2 petrocolas & 6 multis), 4 clowns and 3 compressiceps (red fin lubufus). I found that the very thick bag the clowns were in had sprung a leak and was draining into the tank, after I had spent six hours acclimating them to a higher ph. I had to put them into the tank before I was done. I hope they do well.

So looking forward to another fish day, tripping over buckets.

Nice clown Barracuda. I just got 4 wilds yesterday. Now I have to catch my other two in the 100 usg to join them. Maybe I can catch the runaway pulcher while I am at it.
