hiyaa,

iv bought 2 honey gouramis, one im sure is a female, as its a pure honey and has a very vibrant brown line across its body, is it breeding season now? i havent a clue. the other was beutiful, the brightest in the bunch and also nearly the smallest, it was a new one to me, a red robin honey gourami? is this just a new name for a red honey gourami? am i right in thinking the honey gourami was a female due to the brown lines?

i will post a picture in once they have settled down, most likely tomorrow.

Well i now know that 1nof my honeys is a male and one is a female as they seem to have gone the colour they do when they breed. however what about my red honey gourami? heres a pic:

the males have really pointed top back fin so i think (pics a bit blurred) you have a male there hun

if he is a male, which he is looking like he is, would he and the other male get terrotorial with each other? there are 5 big plants in and a piece of bogwood and no fighting has occured yet. or will the female just get distressed? or may everything be ok?

thanks x

i have 1 male red robin (red honey), 1 male dwarf and 2 male honeys
the dwarf male is territorial
the Honeys only chase each other away from their bubble nests but while they are in the tank not spawning they all swim around happily
