What is a physid snail?? Apparently my baby apple snail is actually a physid snail! Help!

If I read the info correctly, a physid snail is a snail that has the capability to morph under certain conditions. For example: If there's a predatory fish in the snail's habitat, the physid snail will then start to grow rounder and thicker shell to help protect itself from being eaten.

(that's what I understand from the scientific papers, could be wrong though. :p )

How COOL is that!!! Thanks! Sounds good to me :D
