Ph

Why are you shouting? And missing out random letters from words? :S

Try to type as well as you can and more people will be able to/want to read and understand your posts, remember lots of people here read/write English as a second language, and their advice would be just as useful.

The advice given so far has been excellent, going to need more information about the tank though - like truck asks, is it cycling?

Also, why are you wanting to raise the pH in the first place? And why 7.0?

Test the pH of your tap away. If it's above 6.0, then doing a water change will raise your pH anyway.

Not wanting to confuse you any more, but it may be useful to have your KH tested, but don't worry about that until you tell us the pH of your tap water :).

edit to note: Bicarbonate of soda is sodium bicarbonate, not calcium bicarbonate :). It will raise your KH...and pH but only indirectly I think.

what do you mean cycling? i have spray bar on my ex700 filter as well.... my ph tap water is 6.8-7.0

what do you mean cycling?
There's the source of all your problems.

Unfortunately, you now have some reading up to do and work to carry out on the aquarium.

The good news is that you've come to the best place for advice.

Act now, before your fish start dying.

You are currently in a "fish-in cycle".

ammonia is 1.0

nitrite is 0

nitrate is 10

i am using ammo lock and nitrate minus ive only just put them in about 1hr or so ago...

but will check them again 2moz

if its still the same should i do a 10% 25% 50% water change?

will my filter do the job that it should do?

so i dont afto do water change or will i need to do a water change every week like thay say?

The ammo lock should be useful to an extent (but it doesnt remove ammonia or cycle the tank, it just converts the ammonia to ammonium, which still shows up on the ammonia test), but will also need to do 50% daily water changes instead until the ammonia is all gone and stays gone for a qualifying period of time, lets say a week. The water changes will bring the ammonia down to 0.5ppm each time, and raise the pH so that your filter bacteria can multiply and your tank can cycle.

Don't bother with the nitrate minus, at this stage it's a complete waste of time/money and will only add to factors that complicate the cycle.

Read up on that link now, that's the most important thing.

will do now thanks very much for all your help!!!!!!

i will start it all 2moz.

just to make sure

i need to do a 50% water change and that will bring my ph up, and keep ammonia down, and by doing this it will help my filter to do its job better?

The ammo-lock is an emergency measure only, like if it was time to go to work and you found some ammonia. It would work until you got home from work to do the water change. The real cure to ammonia, and to many pH problems is appropriately large water changes. At an ammonia reading of 1 ppm, it will take at least a 75% water change to return the water to acceptable ammonia levels. Another way to get there would be two 50% water changes back to back. Don't forget the dechlorinator and do try to match water temperatures on large water changes. A caution about very large water changes is not to let the filter run dry and never leave a heater plugged in unless it is properly submerged. This means that you need to remember them after the change is done or have no heater and no filter after.
If water changes fail to control the pH in the desired range, then you can add small amounts of calcium carbonate (crushed shell or crushed coral) to the filter flow path to return the pH to higher values. Crushed shell and crushed coral are the main ingredients in the sand that the LFS sells for salt water tanks, so it is easy to find. You place it in a bag like they sell to hold loose carbon so that it doesn't get where you don't want it in the filter.

done a 50% water change.. not checked the ph or ammonia yet but the water is murky, bt will tht settle down?

all the fish look happy still
