loads of 'cheapies' on ebay at the mo £15 inc postage. don't know how accurate, but they do the job without having to use tubes and drops etc.
 
What a stroke of luck!!!!

Just bought one of those Hannah ones (the one recommended) off ebay for £22 plus postage £2.75. How chuffed am am? (until I get it and find out that it's broke or something :rolleyes: )

Well done. Does it come with the pH buffers for calibration and the storage solution for the cell? I use the pH4 and 7 buffers for calibration. They can be brought pretty cheap off the internet. The storage solution is basically 4 molar potassium chloride solution which is what I use as the commercial ones seem a tad expensive to me.

No, it doesn't have any of that, but I can cope with buying those separately, so I'll start looking for those.

No probs. I tend to calibrate mine about once a month as it doesn't seem to drift very much. What you must do though is to keep the cell moist or it will be ruined if left to dry out for too long. For the short term you can use pH4 buffer solution but get some storage solution or KCl asap.
