Pfk Subscription Gift Problems

OMG just rang them up to ask why my fish tank was not here on the 14th and they said they have run out of stock and was arguing with me that it said limited stock when you subscribed which is a lie and said that i would get a " tropical fish goodie bag in return " ive told them no an that a manager should ring me which they said he/she will


The reason im annoyed is because i herd they may be limited stock so i rang them and they said "no one is reserved for people which ordered before the 6th of October i ordered on the 4th "


btw if your tank hasn't arrived yet then they have run out of stock so i would ring them and cause a stir because that is false advertisement.

btw people dnt be smart bums and say i told u so coz i saw sum guy doing that about sum thing else

pfk is actually a magazine.
did you receive the email from pfk saying that you would be receiving a tank? I havent heard of anyone receiving one yet.

EDIT: They've also said some may be delivered as late as Xmas / January

Your post is a little unclear. Are you saying that people who subscribed before the 6th of October would definatley recieve a tank?

From what i can remember it stated on the website that the stock was limited - then again i may be wrong.

To clear it up: Practical Fishkeeping Magazine, or PFK, promised to send you a little fish tank if you subscribed to their magazine. Because so many people subscribed, there are no more tanks for everyone. They promised to give them out as soon as they recieve them.

Just clearing it up for those who are confused !

As has been said, if you got the email confirming you had got a tank, you will get one, if not, you wont. You will know if you got the email as you'll have had about 30 spams with all the morons hitting the "reply to all" button and drivelling on about what they are going to put in their tanks .

As I recall there was a disclaimer on the site about "while stock last" so it isn't false advertising, it's just tough luck if you missed out.

If you want to check if you got one, contact Suart Webster at PFK, he sent the email out confirming I would get one

sorry was unclear no i was peeved off as u can tell i actually rang great magazines.com and they said i wasn't receiving one and yes i have loads of that spam mail but i never received the original message. and i have a print screen of the website and it has nothing saying limited stock that why i am annoyed

Well if PFK told you you're not getting one, I think you already have your answer

I'm not sure how you'd have ended up getting the other emails as they were just replies to the original email.

Best bet is to send an email to Stuart Webster at PFK and ask him.

Good luck If you don't get one, keep an eye out on fleabay, I'm sure it'll be flooded with them as soon as they start getting sent out

As far as i remember the website did say that the tanks were limited stocks and once they were gone, they were gone. I got an email telling me i would receive a tank but it probably wouldnt be till Christmas or maybe January. If you didnt get that email then i assume you missed the tanks

I contacted Stuart from PFK, and he also said I was deffinately getting a tank.

hum, this sounds very dodgy ont e part of pfk, by saying that there is limited stock they still get people to sign up in the hope that they will get one. If people are signing up just to recieve this then it is somewhat misleading but not false advertising, just a bit sneakiy. They should have printed how many were available and they should have also published when they ran out of stock. But even so there is very little that can be done as the internet is not always governed by the same laws as published papers. It might be worth contacting the trading standards board though.

I haven't seen my tank yet either, but did get the e-mail saying i would get one. I actually subscribed twice on the same day (once as a gift), but think i am only getting one tank. it was a bit naughty the the way in which it was done, but i think they genuinely underestimated how popular this offer would be and can understand why there are a lot of disgruntled subscribers out there!

no doubt, if i don't actually get the tank i was promised, i will be changing my somewhat reasonable tone and be slating the b******s.
