Pfk Nano Cube

i didn't get that email, but i did get the tank
unfortunately the glass lid is all smashed up, i've emailed pfk to see if there's anything i can do

everyone elses intact?!
 
Just opened mine and all is fine. I guess you just got unlucky :( Hope they do sort it out for you :)

Got the email yesterday, tank has just arrived. Everything fine, box ok no breakages. Just need to work out where the hell to hide it till xmas, my other half will find this I am sure. Then I need to work out how to use the filter, I can set a canister up no problem, but this mini thing is beating me.
 
Mine's just arrived too - had a quick peek, all okay so far.

Now just need to persuade the hubby to let me keep it - as he's decided he's not overkeen on having 3 tanks (whose are they/looks after them anyway???)
 
the other people who've got them, when did you order them?
 
Just got mine, slight chip on the edge of the glass lid on one corner but im not too worried about that, Opened the filter and its got like a little compartment with all these little black stones in, is this like carbon or something? Whatever it is it makes a right mess and when you rise it it just keeps leaching black stuff, im gunna have to take it out or rinse it many times before i consider putting it into the tank. Noticed the plug as foreign too but luckily you get a nifty little adapter type thing.

yes it's probably carbon

i wouldn't bother with it if that's the cae, replace it with some floss or another sponge.

carbon is great for removing meds from your water but not much else. just store it and if you ever have to medicate the tank then add the carbon after you've finished the course of medication and the fish are well again, remove it after 24 hrs :good:
 
My tank just arrived :D
Lid was chipped slightly in one corner, not surprising as it's just placed inside the bottom of the tank to move about freely!! What's more annoying is the lid doesn't sit evenly on top of the tank :/

Not bad for my first 'new' tank, and larger than what i was expecting. Filter is a bit tiny though. Didn't have any black stones in it though, just a black sponge.
 
hmm if the lid isn't that great anyway (mine was smashed), maybe i could a tougher replacement made up at like B&Q or a builders place or something? can someone measure theres exactly, i no nothing about these things, would an acrylic replacement work if it was the same thickness?
