Hi all,

I was one of the lucky ones to receive this on Thursday (hope the others are getting there now :( )

Hubby agreed in the end that I could keep it (phew), so I got it up and running asap (with assistance of gravel/filter material etc from my other tanks).

Pretty bare as far as aquascaping goes at the moment, just two new plants and my new male Siamese Fighter (seems to really like his new home...all that space).

heh, wouldn't mind replacting my 1.5 gallon nano cube with that 5 gallon one... I'm sure midnight and dawn wouldn't mind it either.

im still waiting for mine, cant wait, and this thread is not making it any better :shout: :p

youve done it up nicely so far :good:

Thanks everyone :)

Am going to take some cuttings from my larger plants in the other tanks today to fill it out a bit more.

Finger's crossed for everyone else's tanks arriving very soon.

Nice tank. Love the colour of the betta.
Ive got one of those cubes too but havnt set it up yet.
What type of gravel is that and where did you get it? Im looking for some black fine gravel for my cube but cant find any ????

Looks like the same Hagen ultra fine black stuff i used in my Aqua 1 cube :)

Got the gravel from my lfs (based at a Wyevale Garden centre in Kent, they're all over though) - it's just a very fine black gravel that they sell in small to large bags (think you can get a similar one online from fishandfins (.co.uk). Have got it in all my tanks as I didn't fancy changing over to sand, but wanted something that my cichlids could still dig up (glutton for punishment, lol).

It looks like the black glass "sand" (it's fine gravel really) that my LFS are selling - we've done out Rio 300 in it and it looks great.

Your cube, and Flare, both look lovely - congratulations :D

Thanks KathyM - added more plants yesterday, so filling out a bit more now (the betta now rests in a java fern, lol).

How're all your Angels now?

My angels went on to pastures new when we swapped tanks, but are all well and happy in their new homes :D Thanks for remembering!

I just have the Rainbow Cichlids now, and the plecs. Time for me to think about adding some other fish to my tank I think!

Looking forward to seeing more pics of your cube as it develops :D

It is a nice cute tank, If more plants and carpeting is there, it will be even nicer. I like the red betta, It looks amazing!

Happy looking Betta :D

Don't have my tank yet, but in the interests of getting prepared - what make / model heater is that ? It looks the ideal size for the tank :)

Thanks - only 2 days in and he's eating well and swimming around lots :)

The heater's actually an old one I had lying around from years ago when I had a Biorb - it's a 50w from Reef One (although think I could easily get away with a 25w one in this tank).
