Updated pic today - added more plants, some wood and 3 Sterbai Cories

That looks fantastic. Quite similar to how I can invisage mine. I really like your wood and the main plant at the back looks very health indeed! (any chance of a close up of your sterbai cats?)

Now here's something we could do with in the January sales....a far improved new camera ! (sorry for the blurry pics...mind you, doesn't help that Cories don't stay still for more than a split second if you're lucky).

Are there going to be any more fish with the corys and that striking betta of yours?

No, that's it - don't want to overcrowd it - it's just right, and the four of them are getting on quite well (the betta's now pinching their food at dinner time, lol).

yeah, I've got lemon tetras and they pinch all of my catfish pellets that are meant for my catfish (see sig.) I'm gonna opt for guppies with 2 or 3 cories and my 2 baby khuliis, do you think that's overstocked if I've only got say 5 guppies. (with lots of plants, and high maintenance, water changes, etc etc.) I dunno, I might completely change my mind when I actually see the real thing.

Think you'd be okay with 5 guppies and 3 cories, but with the loaches too it might overstock the tank (plus they'll get quite big eventually won't they 4-5", no idea how long that'd take, don't know too much about them i'm afraid)

Ok thanks for the reply! I'll probably put in the corys and guppies first (when the damned tank actually arrives, plus I'll have to set it up, and I quite fancy trying out Greenline for mail order plants.) I don't think there'll be a problem with the khuliis, but if there is, I'll easily be able to move them back into my bigger community tank.

Still, I'm enjoying this thread! Keep any updates posted KimA! (plus pictures!!!!!!  ) I liiiiike your wood.

(oooh, and another thing: look out for a similar journal on my tank! I'll PM you once I've got it up and running, could be any time in the next 6 months the way these Nanos are going! then you can see mine too) :p

I think the khullis would be okay for a while as they're babies - can't hurt to try can it.

Really looking forward to seeing your tank setup (& any others too) - I'll keep an eye out :D

It is nicer with the wood & some new plants added in. The plants are so healthy, the fishes too.'
I think 4 of them in the tank is just nice, too much fishes would be a bit too occupied.
Love it... ! :)

Thanks - I agree, much better with the wood and extra plants :)

sooo, Kima, It's been a few days, how have the plants settled in? and those Sterbei. Any new photos?

Helloooo,

The plants are actually doing really well, got some good growth going on (probably helps that Bettas don't dig/chew up your plants like some fish I've got in the other tanks!). Haven't had a chance to take any more pics, but will do in the next week or so - will be good to compare.

I moved the Cories on to one of my main tanks in with my other adult Sterbai's as I noticed that one of them had quite a nip on it's fin - haven't noticed any problems with the Betta, but would rather be safe than sorry - they're now happily swimming alongside the adults (amazed at the size difference - will try to get a decent pic of that too, but the camera's pretty poo).

Thanks for asking :)

Any word on your tank yet?

I started to doubt that my tank would ever turn up, but apparently I'm just supposed to be patient. I can imagine it coming some time during the end of January, but then again it could come tomorrow. All I know is I'm still due to get one but there's no sign of it yet. I look forward to your photos!
