Went to have a look at a different P@H yesterday and came across some quality Cardinals, the best quaity i have seen for quite a while. Decided to get 2 lots which would make 6 fish for £10. After the assistant trying to catch the Congo Tetra's instead of the 'Neons' as she called them i told her it was them ones i wanted, the Cardinals. She actually managed to catch them pretty swiftly. Got home and there was only 5! Not impressed.

Went back this morning and the manager gave me 4 Cardinals for my troubles of having to go back.

Got a total of 9 now which look great and are shoaling very well!

good deal , altho keep an eye on the cards for a while , they can be notoriously difficult to acclimatise at times .

Thanks for the info. I will keep an eye on them. They lost all their colour when in transport, but they have gained it all back and some more by the looks of it. Will be treating them to some Myosotis later on.

It's nice that you got a bonus few fish, but didn't you count them yourself? I think it is standard practice to inspect the fish that are in the box before the fish get bagged up to try to avoid weak fish, sick fish, injured fish, wrong fish, etc. (in that I think is included the correct number of fish).


Good for you, but I think you might want to be a bit more careful in inspecting your fish yourself before purchasing.

I had stood watching them all for about 5 minutes to see if there was a dominant bully amongst them and just assumed that the assistant could count... how silly of me.

I understand that it should be a simple thing, but obviously, they had trouble with the counting. You know what assuming does...


I wasn't trying to berate you or anything. I was merely pointing out that as the customer, you have to be vigilant against incompetence, apathy, distraction, etc. It's YOUR money. Make sure you are getting what you are paying for.

I bought a piece of java fern on some bog wood from them before, was quite a big piece. We were somewhere else that day so I just called in when we were coming home. Anyway, after the hour drive home, I went to put it in my tank, seen movement in the bag. There were two rainbow sharks and 4 albino corys in the bag. I really don't know how they survived as there was minimal water in the bag, I mean, about 5CM.
I only had the two tanks at the time and both were stocked quite well, I gave them over to a friend. He still has all the corys and lost one rainbow.

Got 4 green brochis catfish for I think it was about 9 or 10 quid coz they were listed as corys lol Also got sterbais for the same price as normal corys before
