Penguin Bio-wheel filter

Inker, with the Bio-wheel, the biological filter is in the wheels so it helps keep it there even when changing the charcoal filter.

I currently run the Emperor 400 on my 55. The advantage of the Emperor over the Pengiun is that it has 2 chambers that flow water thru the charcoal filters and also adjustable spray bars to keep the wheel wet. It also has a second filter that allows you to add additional charcoal to help eliminate ammonia. I'm very happy with it, and will never use a different system.

Skiltrip, the 280 would work great on your 37.

I am having problems with the whisper filter on my 20G so got a Penguin biowheel filter today. It was really easy to hook up and everything. Once I got it running I could not believe how loud it is. It sounds like there was a babbling brook running through the room. I made sure the tank was filled to the top. The water going through the bio wheel is really loud. After 15 minutes the sound almost drove me mad so I took it apart and brought it back. Still need a new filter.

It is noisy, but I noticed after a day or two, the noise seemed to blend with normal household noise, it passes.
