Hi guys,

Just wondering if there are any and what cichlid type fish I could stock in a community tank.

My tank is 400ltrs and consists of Angels, Silver Sharks, Corys, Clown Loaches, Congo Tetras, Snowball Plec, Blue Apistos.

Any others I could add. Already had a blue Ram but he recently died, Had him for about 18 months.

Bolivian Rams (tougher than Germans)
Keyhole cichlid
Firemouth (stocking compatibility looks ok to me, but wait for an expert to reply)

Careful if adding more Angels to a tank with existing, they will likely be very aggresive.

Kribs or Keyholes?

James.

Can you give actual numbers of fish? Are the angels / apistos paired up at all?

If space permitting you could add keyholes as mentioned, slightly larger than apistos and normally not that nasty, although I'd be tempted to add more apistos to the mix...

Also, this ought to have been posted in the american cichlids section as you already have angels and apistos which are from that area, you may get more answers if posted there assuming you don't want to mix african and american cichlids (bad idea generally)

1-ram cichlids ( very gentle and peaceful)
2- keyhole cichlid
3- cockatoo dwarf cichlid ( peaceful but tough when breeding they even fight off larger fish when breeding, peaceful otherwise)
4-red hump eartheater
5- discus ( peaceful but very delicate)
6- krib (vigorously defends it's brood while breeding)
7- orange chromide

I hate to do this MR Otter but it needs doing

1-ram cichlids ( very gentle and peaceful) get bolivian rams not germans or blues
2- keyhole cichlid
3- cockatoo dwarf cichlid ( peaceful but tough when breeding they even fight off larger fish when breeding, peaceful otherwise) already in tank I would not add an other male really
4-red hump eartheater not the most peaceful of earth eater really and I wouldnt reccomend with angels
5- discus ( peaceful but very delicate) not suitable for this set up at all
6- krib (vigorously defends it's brood while breeding)
7- orange chromide brackish fish so again not suitable

Added a couple of Kribs, seemed to have settled in well. Will see how they get on before looking at other options. Cheers guys.
