Panda Cory With An Infection

I had 4 Panda cory's in my 30 gal. I had a gravel bottom so my babies rubbed away their barbles... One of them died due to an infection and a second one is showing red around his mouth as if he has an infection too. I changed my substrate today but I feel like I did it too late....
I know cory's don't like salt but should I add salt to help? What could I do to cure his problem? My cory's are easily my favorite babies and I don't want to loose them
any help would be appreciated.

For now, maybe do some extra water changes and put some melafix in the water.
