Pajama Cardinal Eye Problem

I just got my pajama cardinal and noticed his eye was swollen with a white looking film over it. Can someone please tell me what it is so that I can help him? I have attached a picture so that you could see it.

Welcome to the forum. How long have the symptoms been there? It could be an infection or trauma to his eye. I'm not an expert by any means but that looks pretty severe to me. I'm hoping that it's not permanent. How are your water parameters?

I noticed them the day I posted this. It is getting better so I am thinking it was trauma because everything is perfect in the water.

I am glad it appears to be on the mend.  I've been giving serious consideration on adding a school of these cardinals into my new tank when I move.  I used to have a pair of banggai and loved them.  Good luck!
