Painting Near Fish?

I want to redecorate my bedroom but have two fish tanks in there.
They aren't in the way, but wont the fumes effect the fish.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I believe the general advice is to make sure the area is well ventilated, turn off any air pumps, and possibly run some carbon after you've finished just in case. Covering the tanks with a sheet or something wouldn't hurt either.

Also look for paint with low VOC's (volatile organic compounds) sometimes they will say "low-fume" on the can.
If I remember correctly (been out of DIY retail for a couple years now) most Dulux emulsions (silk and matt) are Low VOC paint.
And yes - agree with OohFeeshy's (obviously a fellow Who fan ) comments too =)

if its a betta then it would be best to move it for a few day because they breath air

Ultra low VOC paint (inc. gloss) is now available at places like B&Q. It takes more coats with this stuff but there are virtually no fumes from the paints.
