Overstocked?

I'm planning out my 29g "long" 36 x 12 x 16... aquaclear 30 + 50.

I was thinking:
x8 Trili Cories
x8 Kuhli loaches
x8 Black Phantom Tetra
x10 tetra (haven't decided which one yet, maybe glowlight)

And maybe a rubberlip pleco if I can squeeze him in...

Any suggestions on what type of tetra?

go by 1 inch per 1 gallon rule, and cories/pelcos usually stays at bottom so doesnt take up much spaces, I think BP tetra or carnidal or jumbo neon tetras would be nice, maybe stock like 20 of em?

16 bottom feeders chillin in a 29 gallon seems like a lot IMO. I would personally do one or the other.

I wouldn't do the glolights. I would do cardinals or neons.

16 corys in a 29 gall does seem a lot, I think 10-12 of one type would be better.

If you have plants and low lighting, I think glowlights would look quite nice actually.

Glowlight tetras aren't the same as Glo Fish.

Oh okay, i just looked it up. You are completely right. It's the glofish I am not a fan of.
Glowlight testras are pretty darn cute

They are lovely in a big group in a planted tank with subdued lighting. But glofish are definitely to be avoided.

I've never owned tetras. Just got my livebearers and now a couple of cichlids. I see those glofish in the LFS and I can't help but think "poor fishies..." don't they inject dyes into the glofish?

Glofish are genetically modified, not dyed. They're made by implanting a jellyfish gene into the egg.

Anyways yeah I figured all those bottom-dwellers was a bit too much. The reason I want to put them together is because my 8 kuhlis in my 75g are always hiding and I thought I might see them better in 29g. So maybe I will stick to cories + plec or maybe kuhlis + plec.

But as for the tetras is ~20 an ok amount, or too much?

Personally, yes, I would like a large school of just one tetra but I already have the bpt and don't really want to get more. And I'm unable to trade at lfs.

All sounds good to me, I'd have no worries putting 16 bottom dwellers in a 29G with the 8 phantom Tetra's, if you wanted another species of Tetra I'd go for 10 or so Ember Tetra's or something a little smaller than average.

Well first I haven't done too much research about khulis I. Particular but I know loaches and they can get big plus what u wanna do would way overstock follow the 1 inch per gallon rule. I always say If it's more than 5 inches over 1 inch per gallon ur tank is overatocked

I don't think Kuhli loaches get much longer than most cories. About 4inches on the kuhlis I believe. They would be fine in a group of 6 on the bottom. I personally like the cories though. They are neat to watch
