Hi guys, I bought two Otto cats to add in my 10gallon tank (already had 1 Otto and 8 cardinals). A few days later I noticed one of them got white fuzz on its fins. Another one got a white spot on its body and tail. The first one was dead a day or two later. I took the other one out in a hospital tank and treated with tablets (in the attached photo). I first thought it’s cloumris but then thought it’s more like fungal. So now this little guy has been in the hospital tank for five days . Still alive but didn’t seem any improvement of the white spot (not getting worse neither). He’s not been moving around much from the first day I noticed the white fuzz. He didn’t seem to lose much weight neither. I have dosed three days later after the first dose (so total two doses).
Now I am not sure what to do next. Try other medications or just keep observing? I also wonder if it’s fungal or columris.
I did tested the water when I noticed the fuzz. The nitrate was slightly high.

It is not Columnaris.
It looks like fungus and maybe a bit of excess mucous.
Fungus normally gets into damaged tissue. If the fish have been physically damaged by rough handling, then fungus can get into the wounds. Poor water quality can also allow fungus to gain entry into damaged tissue.
Excess mucous is normally caused by something in the water irritating the fish.
The best treatment for mucous is big daily water changes and gravel cleaning for 1-2 weeks.
Fungus can be treated with aquarium or rock salt. Use 1 to 2 heaped tablespoons per 20 litres. (Start with 1 and if no improvement after 24 hours, add a second spoonful). Keep the salt in tank for 1 week after the fungus has gone, but no longer than 4 weeks. It usually goes after 24 hours with salt.
Triple Sulpha might help too but try salt first if you have some.
