I have heard Otos are very sensitive to medicines. Usually when I add new fish to the tank I use Melafix. Do you think that would bother them?

Yes, it will bother them; Every medicines are toxic to fishes and you shouldn't put medicines into your tank if there isn't any disease. Why to medicate healthy fishes and make parasites/bacteria more resistance to chemicals?

If you need that melafix someday, how do you medicate your sick fishes? Add 3-4x normal dose because bacteria have developed stronger resistance already?

There is already alot of fish diseases that are impossible to treat with medicine or normal doses because people used to add medicine into their tank without any reason.
