Other Babies?

hey sims3dude havent heard about your molly in a while, 1 thing i have noticed is that swordtails don't get all that fat during pregnancy. and probably the stress of giving birth plus the water conditions may have affected her and caused her to die.

but thats just what i think.

p.s. congrats on your molly, but you missed her giving birth though right?

hey and if you want more of the fry you should remove your fish and then use a gravel vacuum and carefully stir up the gravel and suck up the crap in the water. then once you think you've sucked up enough crap, look through the dirty water and i can almost guarentee youll find some fry. i did that, yesterday and found a whole crapload of fry. and im keeping like 7 or 6 of them.

good luck :good:

Thanks!
Any ya, :( I missed the birth! She had em when I was sleeping last night! lol

would seriousley do a big big water change (no more than 25% however). Also would recommend you increase the Ph of your water. (just as well I told you to test it eh??)

ive sucked some fry up while cleaning their trap, one was being nosey and got too close lol

Have you retested your water? Even though your fish may be behaving normally, any amount of testable nitrite will have adverse effects on your fish. Doing 25% water changes is not diluting the level enough. You need to do water changes until your nitrite reads 0. Even if it means a nearly complete water change over 24 hours.

over the course of the day today, I did about 3/4 of the water all together (with 3 changes) that should be fine right?

I checked this morning and they went down to .25 ppm,
so I did another water change, I checked about 2 hrs later and it's at 0 ppm now :good:
Thanks for your help!

Now all you need to do is stay on top of the water testing and changes so it can't get away from you again Sims.

Yepp, for sure, I do a waterchange once a week, is that ok? then I can test it too..

If your test tells you that a change is needed earlier, you need to do it. Fry can place more biological load on a tank than most people would expect.
