Cobwebs - yes but clumpy ones.

I think I have a prima-donna Oscar as the move really wasn't that stressful - no travelling just form one tank to another with minimal differences in the water.

Anyway, hopefully the 40% waterchange (not fun when we are talking a 600l+ tank !!) will help, then lights out and fingers crossed.

yes thats exactly how jambo was, i was in tears worried, but he was fine ill try and find the thread where this happend maybe theres some advise in there you can use

Snail trail is quite an accurate description.

Temp is at 25.3 at the mo, just doing water change, gravel vac and sterilising the rest of the decor (wood/plastic plants) in boiling wate and myxazin.

Albino (Ghost) is mildly affected, still swimming and eating. Black (Darkness) is badly affected, sitting on the floor, mouth open and miserable.

The Clarias that got heater burn is definitely sulking while the other clarias and the 2 kissing gouramis seem oblivious to it all....

oh no .. oh geesus thats crap.. i am so sorry for you, im sorry that between us we couldnt find out what was wrong, problem is with oscars that a lot of symptoms are those of regular oscar attitude, im not geat on dieseases but must have been something that knocked him sideways as they are such tough fish and can tolerate a lot

I'm fairly sure it was something aggressive and bacterial, it's the only thing I can imagine would strike so quickly. Less than 48hours to keel over a 5" oscar who was in excellent health. He looked in a really bad way last night, laboured breathing and the cobwebby stuff clogging his gills.

Thanks to everyone for the help, hopefully Ghost will pull through.

I'm just gutted as these 2 had been firm friends from the day they were introduced.

Now concerned that Ghost will pine for his/her pal!

Im sorry to hear that, poor guy. Start to medicate with the myxazin as soon as you can.

Right 24hrs of running carbon then dosed with myxazin today. Ghost much more active today and is eating a little, even attacked me so definitely perking up!
