Oscar And Yellow Belly Sliders A Good Idea?

Hello everyone,

basicly i was just wondering if i could put my 2 yellow belly silder turtles male (5ich) and female (11 ich)which live in a 3ft tank in. my red oscar (10 ich) and a plec which live's in another 2ft tank, and i want to put them all in my 3 ft tank or will the turtles kill my oscar because they eat fish lol, just wondering cause would be a nice setup and easyer many thanks

Unfortunately not in a 3ft tank, as the oscar should be in a 75 gallon 4ft tank just on its own (due its size). Compatibility wise I couldnt see it working either even in a larger tank.

no idea if the fish and turtles can mix , but the oscar needs a 75 gallon tank on its own , so rather than thinking of mixing things , you should be looking at a serious tank upgrade .

i have no idea on the sliders, but dont they need surface to sunbathe on?.. oscar will neck em if he can catch them tho( and hence die).. look for a 2nd tank for the turtles

first problem i see is oscars need 75g really wich unless the 3ft has wierd shapes its less also if the plecs a common its the same as above but that aside i would guess the turtles would nip the fish and try to eat them

NO WAY! A 3ft tank is far too small for 2 adult yellowbellies, especially a female 11in long. You need a 5ft tank just for these 2 turtles, never mind adding huge fish like oscars and common plec!As others have said, you should get a 4ft tank at least for the oscar and plec AND a 5ft one for the turtles.
