Oranda Red Cap Emergancy!

Hi
I just did another ammonia test and this time it was 4ppm. Better but I am still water changing.

Taking that much water out will stress your fish out too much.

If I were you, I would take those fish to a lfs and read how to do a fishless cycle. Once that is done, you can stock it with the appropriate fish.

Actually I have been doing it gradually. So only about 4 cups of water at a time.

Oranda red cap (Sushi) is ok. doesnt seem better or worse. She just stays on the bottom... Amonnia is at 2ppm not sure about nitrate.

Thats still dangerousley high and every day of exposure damages your fish considerably.

How soon can you move them to the bigger tank?

If it isnt within the week then i really would re home the fish.bItl be for the best.

For some reason I get a vibe that he's one of the people that won't believe or listen to anything anyone says. they have the attitude that everything will be ok.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if that fish dies within this month.

Correction!: Im a she.

Forest Piscies,
Today I bought a thing for my filter that kills the ammonia in the water as it goes through. Ammonia is now 2 ppm.
Big tank should be ready in one week.

Please dont be so negative afishdude when someone asks for advise it is up to the more experienced to help and guide people not judge and make nasty comments please be more considerate we were all new to this once and i'm sure everyone at sum point has done some pretty awful things to their fish un-knowingly thinking we were quite right in doing so as far as i am aware the op is doing her best and taking on advise which is all we can hope for so please if your not going to help then dont say anything at all.

rL4400that is much better and the sooner you move the fish the better as the water stats will be easier to control as a larger body of water is much more stable and make sure to keep up with the water changes to keep the ammonia at 0.

Oh and reaserching your fish and their needs and very importantly how big they will get will help you here so you know whether you will need to upgrade again which i think you might.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I think you better read all of her posts. People keep giving her information and she ignores it. I gave her a link to all the information on this site about cycling and setting up a new tank. She claimed that she read it and keeps proceeding to try to remove the ammonia with chemicals. Well the first topic tells about ammonia and how it is good for your filter.

Instead of acting like you are taking the advice, actually do it.

READ ALL OF THESE

After you read those you will understand how it all works.

Thanks for all your help forestpisces!
Sorry I didn't post much today but we moved all the fish to the new 30 gallon tank today. Where the stats are
Oppm ammonia. Fish are good so far and blister is pretty much gone. :good: Fish are still adjusting to the change but are slowly investigating. THe new tank doesnt have much in it but we are getting more tommorrow. Water is a little murky but is settling out quickly. We put in a new type of cycle that makes new aquirariums ready for fish right when you put it in. But we still let it sit for a few hours.
