dont think so, i jus stripped it down and dried everything i can see, put it back together and still no luck, i think i may have burned it out completely

Leave it unplugged for a few days to dry out properly , then try again. It may work. Also worth checking and maybe replacing the plug fuse.I've done worse -accidentally dropped an extension lead with 2 heaters and 2 filters plugged into it in my turtle tank while doing a water change.Hastly switched lead off at wall, then unplugged everything and left lead to dry for 3 days. Amazingly, it still works but it's a miracle me and all my pets weren't killed instantly!

What sort of light is it?

it is just a cheap chinese version of the arc pod light, i thought i would try the most obvious thing and check the bulb and bulb has blown, so wired it up to an energy saving light bulb just to give the tank some light until i can get a new bulb and all is ok
