I'm putting together my bank-busting order at That Pet Place today and have one last question. So the tank is a 75 gallon - I'll be running an AC110 on one side and an AC50 on the other. Tank will be planted, not super heavy, but pretty good for sure. I have a problem now in my 36 gallon of growing hair algae from poor circulation. I've read that pretty much all your plants should be gently waving in the breeze
That said, I was going to get a very small circulation pump to supplement the flow in there. I was either getting the Koralia Nano that moves 240gph or the one that does 425gph. Both are similarly priced so that isn't a factor - my question is, with the setup, do I really need an additional 425gph of flow in the tank or would 240gph suffice if all I'm looking to do is avoid dead spots and not create a strong current? Pretty much all of my stocking do not need a current, so I'm just wondering if I can get away with 240 as I really have no concept of how much water that is really moving.
