Omg Help!

Does anyone know what this is?
I have just seen the mark on the side of my Black ghost knifefish, unfortunately i had to catch him in a net to get a pic.
Could have been the chinese algae eaters? I was going to get them out of there anyway...
Or could it have been the other BGK? Which if anything between them happened, i would seperate them as it wouldn't be fair, wouldnt want to loose 1

I think the other BGK also has a mark on the side of him...
I have fed them on bloodworm and brineshrimp, temp - 29C
Please can anyone help

Too be honest mate, I dont know much about these guys, But from the looks of it, Thats to big too be the Chinese Eaters. Although there pretty aggressive at times, I think its got too be the other BGK.

But like i said, I know nothing about these guys Wish i could help more. Hopefully some experts will pop up

Same they are lovely fish, and if it is the 2 BGK having a go at eachother i will have to let 1 go

But if its best for the both of them, and they're both okay.
I don't know how i can seperate them though....the only other tank i have is a 60l that isn't any good, it's too small

Is it worth leaving the light on tonight just so they won't go near eachother?
They each have their own hideouts so they will be under cover.
I know i'm rushing and i'm sorry, but please can someone help me decide what to do, i don't want anything to happen to them.

How about one of those net tank dividers? As a temporary solution until you can decide what to do.

Firstly you need to seperate the BGKs, unless you have a really big tank with BGKs that have grown up together, chances are they will bully each other unmercilessly. Its pot luck.

Then you need to move on your CAEs, you know they pose a risk, especially with a broadsided fish like a knifefish!

Then you need to treat your fish, BGKs hate being medicated but you need to stp that infect, loks well on the way to a nice bacterial infection. Something like Myxazin (formalin, malachite and acriflavin) though half the recommended dose for your BGKs sake.

Also Melafix, once you have finished your treatment, Melafix is a great product to use once a week or so to help fix bumps and bruises and scratches without adding chemicals.

Thanks, i only had the chinese algae eaters because they came with something else, they were only going to be in this tank temporarily as the tank they came in was disgusting and too small for them

I will have to try and find one of those dividers, and although i don't like seperating fish, if it's best for them ....
Is it just half the dose or less? i've heard they aren't good with meds

I have never seen them fighting even when they are eating, unless they fight when it's dark.

Could have been burn from the heater as i have seen him round there sometimes, but it is starting to get better now. But i will definitely keep an eye on it.
