I wonder if there's any Ebay rules about scamming folks like that? I mean, it's not as if we can disprove her really, is it?

If you go through paypal, you can get your money back from the seller via paypal if you got scammed after payment. Also, ebay can ban members with certain feedback or if they are caught scamming. You would have ot report to both paypal and ebay about it though. i know this b/c my parents are Ebay mainacs, well they were before we baught our new house...

And yes that's about $300 US

Most common plecs in aus, are around $20. I hope someone ain't going to buy it for that price.

I paid £30 for mine, from ebay - no hes not fully grown (i also think hes a x between the two 'common' plecs), but that inc delivery, and also an albino red finned shark and i only did that to rescue the poor thing as he was in a 2ft tank (hes 14".....)....

Dont thiknk ebay can do anything its up to the buyer ot make sure the item they buy is worth the money they pay - yes its misdescribed given they cant breed in that set up, but how can we prove shes lying?

Exactly. Incidentally, I got a reply:

Hi I'm sorry to say no idea about L number, I rescued the tank from a friend who was moving and inherrited all fish in it. I later bought a second plec, at this time they were both still quite small, some time later they spawned the baby Plec. I passed that onto a friend but sadly it lasted no more than 6 months only reaching 2 inch length. As you can tell I'm not an expert in this subject but all the above stated is true. Perhaps your comments explain why the spawn didn't survive very long. Thank you for your input,sorry couldn't be more useful.

Not going to reply to her though as I dont want to waste any more of her time, no doubt get Ebay on my back lol.
