Noooo!
Dennis was fine but today i found a rip in his fin, they were growing back nicely, but I found a new rip. No blackness like fin rot, but I don't know if its a rip from damage. Its really uniform, not like little holes, but like... ill get a picture.

Fin rot? Fin damage? M&M2? Aquarium salt? Bettafix?
(Sorry to be such a bother)

Yep, bettafix and salt and keep the water clean. It's hard to tell from the pic if it's fin rot or just torn. Either way the bettafix and salt and clean water should fish him right up.

It spread, I changed the water, and took out all the ornaments except the bubbler and his plant. Ugh... Im sick of sick fish now. Im starting an M&M2 treatment tomorow.

Yep, if it's spreading hit it with M&M2 right away. BTW - How old is Dennis? I found out the hard way that older fish tend to get sick easier. I don't know if their immune system drops or they just get stressed easier making them susceptible to disease.

Wally had no problems at all until he hit 1.5 years old (from purchase). Got a mild case of fin rot, cured it, couple months later got a severe, fast spreading fin rot, stopped it, but he was so weak from the disease that he died after another 2 months of keeping his water extremely clean and adding a low maintenance dose of BettaFix each water change. You could watch him get weaker and weaker.

you go through bad patches with fish I believe this time of the year the water companies mess about with the water and put more chemicals in so my babies dont get clean water so often...they dont seem bovvered all bubble nesting like mad. I just do partial water changes more often and use the baster for getting muck out. I wouldnt want to be a turkey baster mine gets attacked in every tank! :hyper: :hyper:

He's about two or three months since I got him. So he's about 1.2 years I think.
How does a siphon work? Is it like a tube, sucking stuff up, or a machine?
For water changes, can I use a sawed off water gallon to scoop up water but leave just enough water for him to swim? And put new water?

This may be a stupid question but what is M & M2, just wondering for later value, THANKS.

M &M2 is Maracyn and Maracyn 2. Fish medications.

A siphon is like a tube that sucks gunk out of the tank and removes water. Some are self starting, some you have to suck on the end to get started. It's not enough just to remove the water and replace with clean water. You need to get into the rocks/substrate and get all the decaying crud that has settled into the rocks every time you do a water change.
