OK PlatyGirl. You can now move my vote over to the endlers. They are so easy that they took my 45 gallon from 3 pair to about 100 fish in less than 6 months while I fed them and did a water change every few weeks. Otherwise they were on their own. None of the big 4 are that easy.

I have heard stories about things that breed like rabbits but feel sorry for anyone who has something breeding that slowly. Show me something that breeds like endlers and you might have a prolific animal. Endlers drop fry on average every 23 days and they seldom prey on their fry. Without a predator, you could easily end up with very high numbers. I even have some endlers sharing a 10 gallon tank with a male Betta splendens and they are managing to increase their numbers with him preying on the fry.

Actually, that happened with my friend with her guppies. I gave her about 6 of my guppies, and 3 months later, there were about 40 guppies in her tank, and not just babies. It's amazing what fish can do.

I just hope my fish will start having babies again. When I changed my tank to a community tank, it went downhill quickly. When I had just a species tank, (guppies) I had so much success.

Guppies FTW!

But, I actually think that platies are easier to take care of. Mine almost never have babies, but they are super hardy when it comes to not getting diseases and stuff, and they are so peaceful.
