Odd

I went to a new pet store about 45 minutes from home with the intent of buying some rummy-nosed tetras if they had them. I was incredibly impressed with the cleanliness, knowledge of the employees, and supplies and products offered. More importantly they had exactly what I walked in for. Then, something odd happend, I left, without the fish. You may be asking why. Well, I don't even know! Just a strange occurence I had to share.

Anything like this ever happen to you?

Ha, this is odd if the store is 45 min away and thay had everything you wanted. Perhaps the price was too high or you just suddenly lost interest.

Too bad you waisted your time. I never have experienced this myself.

No, that's odd too. Prices were comparable, or lower, than other places around! They even had pieces of really nice mopani and malaysian driftwood available.

I wouldn't say it was a waste of time, I'll be back, I think I found my new LFS!

I got halfway home and couldn't believe what I did and felt it needed to be shared.

I am the same as the last post, I go in for one thing and come out with that and three other things. On Monday I went in for 5 fish of one type and came out with 15 across three types!. I am like a kid in a candy shop when I go into my LFS.

My girlfriend will not let me go into any fish shop anymore. I just explain to her what I'm after and she will get it. I was never an impulse buyer of fish, I'm quite picky but if she has seen a nice fish she will send me a picture to see if I want it. More often than not I'll refuse. I used to hoard food, cichlid pellets, catfish pellets, flakes, frozen too. I own 5 air pumps and don't even have them out of the box. Tubes I have quite a few of too, "just in case"

I do this and I'll tell you what it is:

Subconsciously you didn't actually want to get them that day. You wanted to go and look but were actually expecting not to find what you were looking for. It's the whole thing about wanting what you can't have. When you found you could have them you actually didn't want them (then).

I don't think I have EVER gone into a fish shop and not spent anything. I know, it's a sickness :fun:

When I go to fish shop... I calmly walk around the shop and do my thing.. If any one ask me if Ian ok and try to help me.. I say thanks and leave the shop. This is why I buy my fish from private breeders.

lol.. no, over friendly staff annoys me..

when i set out to buy a fish.. i know exactly know what i want.. with weeks of reserch i go and look for them. right know i am after pair of heros green severums for a month.. i want, around 6'' in size. and perfact body shape with long fins.. cant find one yet.. chain store staffs treat you like a little boy and talk load of bull poo about fish.. private breeders know what you are and let you do your thing.

of course i dont do what i said in first post... that would make me a right tool...
