After the rescape on my 40g all was well. Now there's red algae growing everywhere. What type is it?

Definitely looks like a diatom attack.....aquariums do that when new, newly rescaped and sometimes just to be awkward when settled for a few years

As @WhistlingBadger rightly said, it will vanish by itself when its ready to...probably a couple weeks or so. You can assist the eviction by wiping the glass and sand hoovering but if prepared to be patient it will evict itself.

Looks like diatoms to me. If so, it will probably clear up with time.

Thanks guys. I'm just glad it's not some sort of Cyanobacteria 😅
