i do 30% every other day , its easy tho just syphon out straight down the sink with a hosepipe , while thats doing give the sand a clean , then put the hose on the tap and re-fill the tank , hey presto hardly any effort at all.

Ah right, I use the old water from my tanks to water my garden It takes aaaages to refill the tank, so 30% every other day on my big tank would do my head in. No Discus for me

yeah i dechlorinate. i use pond dechlorinator gos loads further. i syphon out my 30% then start the hosepipe running and add the dechlorinator straight to the tank. ( enough for the whole tankj volume , not the ammount ofr water changed) . works a treat and is dead easy to do , so the extra waterchanges are no problem at all.

i take it you do the same as me by doing a slow drip fill from the hosepipe
