I am done with fish keeping because....

Hello everyone,

Welcome back after my months of inactivity. Hoping everyone's doing alright!

!This topic isn't dwelving into fish or reptile keeping or any heavy subjects!


I haven't been doing alright, I am much lower in energy and not very active on socials (but let's be honest-I have Discord only).

Have been going through ups and downs, and completely lost interest in fish keeping. There's been too many issues for me, so I am in process of taking things down and focusing on a different project in terms of reptile keeping. I am finding it more managable.

I have already rehomed my reptiles, and focused heavily on cleaning and selling things. I will instead just get a blue tongue skink, I just find this more managable and easier to take care off due to my health issues.

Would anyone be interested in me posting some photos over time? So I just cannot promise being much active on here ^^

Sorry to hear about the situation you are in currently. Always put yourself first before anything else. I found it became a burden when I had to keep ontop of stuff which I had little to no time for. Discord is a great platform for the niche parts of the internet much like TFF. I’m on many servers for other hobby’s and interests I have outside of fish keeping. Any photos will be appreciated that’s a guarantee.

Nothing to come clean on, life gets in the way of things and that’s that.

Welcome back. I get it--sometimes you have to take a break, especially during complicated times. Take care of yourself, do what you need to do. Fish keeping will still be here whenever you decide to come back to it. I suspect we will be, too.

I’m not sure of your situation but maybe don’t sell all your equipment if you have a little storage space? If you should get your fish-keeping mojo back sometime it would save expense to have a tank waiting.

I'm sure I'm not the only 1 that would love to see pics of your skink. Not my hobby, but I like pics of others' pets or wild outdoor reptile friends. Sometimes it's good to take a big step back but not to close the door on the future. I agree, if you can store some equipment, do it. For future fish or reptiles...things can change.
