Yes, agree with Whitey_144. His 6 days for the first reduction to zero ppm is very typical, but sometimes it goes down in 3 days and in a very few cases it has even taken 3 weeks before the first drop to zero, so it varies a lot.
Kind of glad you had a little adventure finding the ammonia because that is just your first example of the weird and wonderful world of fishless cycling. Believe me, it just doesn't feel like normal reality some of the time, but it really does all work out in the end! We all know it feels like an act of faith because we've all been through it.
It will take patience, patience and more patience! The two bacterial species are very slow growers and it's rare for beginners to manage to get any mature media from someone else's filter, like they will have in the future from their own cycled filters.
