Nosey Female Apisto Ag

I have a pair of Apistos in a 33 US gal tank, but the female is really nosey! I do regular water tests infront of the tank and she is always there watching intently at the color changes in the tubes. Has anyone else found this? Is it a response to colours? I thought apistos were supposed to be shy (she has several caves to choose from) but she is by far the most gregarious. Is it just my fish or are some of your apistos like this too?! Please share ur apisto stories! Thanks

Apistos, like many cichlids, can be quite nosey once settled in. I have a breeding pair in a 20 next to a 20 for growout. If you feed the breeders first the fry all crowd to the right side of the tank looking for food. If you feed the fry first the pair will go to the left side of the tank wondering where theirs is.
