If long dried and waterlogged, i was wondering if those grape stalks (part connecting the fruit and the main stem) or those palm stalks (the weird shaped stalk connecting the dates to the tree) could be of use as a safe non-conventional driftwood or an underwater wooden decor.

I know grapes are notorious for a lot of animals but i wonder if it's still the case for this. Just asked coz i saw some inside my pet stuff drawer that was like years old dried already

Thanks! :)

You could alway experiment. Put some water in a container, test it, so you have a base to compare with. Add the wood you are wanting to use, and test periodically to see if anything changes.

I do it, especially if i cant figure out what the wood is i want to use.

Grape wood can be used but it tends to rot quicker than other woods

Hmm.. makes sense.

Should the water be treated already to see better results? Or just soaking it in plain tap be okay for experiment's sake?

I wouldnt treat it just for testing
