Nocturnal search

My wc L136 arrived on Tuesday and entered a well planted tank home to 15 N. marginatus. I haven’t seen the pleco since releasing him. So last night I took out my red flashlight and went searching for him. Futile endeavor. I look forward to the day when I get to observe him.

The tank is mostly covered and I have not spotted a corpse on the floor.

Don't worry. I don't know what you paid for this invisible fish, but you can factor in rates of inflation. By the time you see him, that amount will look like nothing, and a fish you see once every millenium will have been a great deal!

You could invest $20-$25.00 in a small endoscope to hunt the beastie down. I have one and they are pretty cool as to just seeing what is going on in areas you can't see from the outside.

Hah! I have invisible L-046 nocturnal zebra plecos from TwoTankAmin. I almost never have seen them but it's a treat when I do They are really good hiders.

In my earlier insomniac days, I had a clown pleco I would see ~2am most nights. Much less shy than the zebras.

You're retired, I think. Maybe if you get up to pee in the night, you could have a look around. You just might see him out & about

I have a little clown pleco in my 60l ember tank. Haven't seen him/her since I bought him/her a month ago. The endoscope idea looks good. Lol. I don't stay up late so I suspect I'll see him only when I eventually rescape the tank.

If you're seeing food disappear, he's in there doing his thing. These guys really do live up to the invisible reputation, but that's pretty much what you sign up for with plecos.

Last night I used my red flashlight to look for fish. Here is a picture of a pair of P. taeniatus on a midnight stroll.

My juvenile L183 usually comes out in the evening. The red light flash light lets me catch him in action. Another tank has a juvenile L136. I have yet to spot him during lights out.
