There's all the people who have "normal" times and then there are those (like me) on the tail of the distribution curve who have long cycles.... you might be one of those. You did use dechlorinated water didn't you?

Yeah, I dechlorinated the water and even left it to run through the filter etc overnight before adding the ammonia.

I have done a 50% water change and my ammonia is around 2ppm / 3ppm, which I expected, whether this makes a difference or not well soon see...
