Nicas Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis

Guys and Gals i need your help. I wish to purchase a Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis (Nicas). They live in the Nicaraguan lakes in Central America where males can grow up toi 25cm. Thier diet includes insects,fruits, detritus, snails, leaves ansd seeds. Has anyone come across them and do they know anywhere that is likely to have one. Thanks.

I live in the U.S., so I cant help you, but they are a very stunning fish!

Nicas are not very common in shops, but living in the south means i cannot reallistically advice you on where to go.
Many shops should be able to order one in for you, but being in the north, check out Wharf Aquatics in Nottinghamshire, I am cirtain they could order one in for you.

hi,i got 2.they are a lovely fish.trimar has at least one in.i saw it today.£5.99 each from trimar in cornwall.look at the trimar website.they deliver all over england as well.

LOL @ "nicas", can imagine someone ringing up Trimar and asking for them - they'd tell you to get to Marks and Sparks

Beautiful fish, seen them on Ebay before (breeder) and Aquarist Classifieds. Might be worth keeping eyes peeled on there? Although Trimar are fantastic...

You can get them off ebay too, I got some HRP from the same guy so I can vouch for his packaging etc.
