hi, the angelfish are going to get BIG, they really need a tall tank, you could get zebra danios/harlequins/tetra's to add.

the temp is fine at 76f, anything between 70-85 will be OK for them. most tropical fish can deal with a range of temperatures.

have you cycled your tank?

Yes, I set up my tank just over 3 weeks ago and added 4 mollies a week later and added my 2 small angelfish a couple of days ago.

Just to add to this

When some people read up on a species of fish they come across a recommended temp and they worry if they are a few degrees under or over. However, the temperature of water that these fish are used to from the wild actually can vary quite alot year round. I believe the speed at which the water changes is far more important than the actual temp. (Obviously im not talking about huge differences in temp) 5 - 7 degrees aither side is quite normal in nature and when water naturally warms in spring it can induce spawning.

Hi there,

re the question that truck asked - there is a lot of misinformation about what the term "cycling" means. Most cycles we attend to here in our beginners section take between one and two months to complete. Its quite rare for one to complete in 3 weeks, did you have "mature media" to help "seed" the beginning of the cycling process? Did you use a method that involved household ammonia and a liquid-based test kit? Just trying to help!

What are the numerical results currently for the ammonia, nitrite(NO2), pH and nitrate(NO3) in your tank water?

Hate to say it but its true, angels will need at least 17" minimum height and about 28-30 US gallon minimal volume - they get to be big fish!

Sorry to hijack your thread but one question I promise...it's just when I was reading it one thing caught my eye.

Are zebra danios tropical fish? All of the pet shops next to me sell them as cold water - they are in with goldfish.
