New To This

the only thing i know about angels is they tend to be a bit teritorial especialy when spawning and i have seen a pair force the rest of their tank mates to the other side of the tank (somthing i didnt really want tbh)

no offence taken

i suppose their is a happy medium some where

Pearl Gouramies.... (or moonlights)..... Kribensis.... Orange Chromides.. (although slightly brackish)....Blue Acara.... Severum (for something a little bigger).... Kissers...... Butterfly..(not really beginners fish).... Keyholes (also a bit big).... just don't get anymore scavengers.... you have enough Plecos in there.....

i am not too sure what you mean by scavengers ? is that the corries, loaches and pleco's or just the pleco's ?

i didnt go out to buy the sailfins but saw how they were being kept and felt sorry for them (safe to say i havent been back to the store since) but these are going to be rehomed in the future (freind has 100g tank was the reason i took up the hobby)

i will have a look through thr profiles of the fish mentioned

would a green severum be a good addition ?

just had a look and found that i have black neon tetras not phantom (but were labled as them) does that make a difference ?

i like the look of the blue acara and the severums

i have seen kribensis in my local fish store and they tend to be a bit aggressive when spawning also (they have a pair with a spawn and they are keeping all the other fish at the other side of the tank

my tank is 48"x18"x21"

never seen an apistogramm so will see if i can find one wilst at the lfs tomorrow

they had a ruby red fish today but am unsure of the complete name similar size to the jd (unsure of aggression)

they also had a couple of blue fish @ £15 a peice again unsure of the name or aggression but get similar size to the jd

also their was a rare fish but forgot that name also a similar size (mabe silghtly smaller) than a jd it rare due to an additon to its name although the normal is quite common

i aint much help am i lol

TBH when looking for the new fish if you're not sure what they are in the lfs see if you can get a photo or something on your phone , go home and read about it before impulse buying. You can get an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey which are supposadly less aggresive than the normal JD.

When you says about differernt fish being aggresive with breeding nearly all cichlids are and i'd of thought most other fish are too.
